"A fundamental principle of sound healing is that physical, emotional and mental symptoms are being generated by an underlying energy field. Thus, if we change the energy field, then the physical, emotional and mental patterns will also change...." from Human Tuning by Dr. John Beaulieu
The sound healing therapy that I practise is called Integral Sound Healing. This means that I choose from a variety of instruments in order to bring about a change in a client's energy and well-being and thus start the process of self-healing. Some of the instruments I use are tuning forks, Himalayan singing bowls, quartz singing bowls, gongs, chimes, shamanic drums and stringed instruments. A very powerful instrument is the voice which can be used subtly as in humming or chanting sacred sounds such as mantras.
Integral Sound Healing also attends to the different energy layers of our being, including the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual layers. It also works on the 'chi' flow of energy through our meridian channels and on the energy centres of the chakras.
And finally, an essential component of Integral Sound Healing is a conscious and intentional heart connection between client and healer formed at the beginning of the session, along with a stated intention for the healing outcome.
We are, essentially, beings of light and frequency. Our cells are in constant vibration. So it seems natural that the harmonics of musical instruments will have an effect on us. This was known and practised in ancient times and now science is disovering the power of frequencies to heal, both emotionally and physically. The instruments can work in either a very focussed way but also have a more general effect where the harmonics wash through and cleanse and renew all the cells of the body.
Through sound healing, clients have been able to experience a good night's sleep for the first time in years, come off medication successfully, heal lesions, improve their health in many ways, find renewed meaning in life and empower themselves.
